Les Invalides, located in Paris’s 7th arrondissement, is a vast monumental complex built in the 17th century at the initiative of King Louis XIV.
Originally designed to house wounded soldiers and veterans, it now contains several military museums as well as the tomb of Napoleon I, located beneath the famous golden dome.
A symbol of French military history, the site is renowned for its classical architecture and grand courtyards.
